She did her schooling at Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School, Mumbai.

Since the age of 13, Tamannaah has been working in the stage plays. During her school’s annual day function, she was noticed by someone who offered her a lead role in a film. Later, she joined Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai for a year. She started her acting career after completing her class 12. Case Filed by a Film Producer

In 2013, the Indian film producer Salim Akhtar filed a cheating and breach of contract case against her at the Association of Motion Picture and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) and the Calcutta High Court. He said that as per their contract, after the release of her debut film, she was supposed to pay 25% of her income for five years to Salim, but she failed to do so. Later, her father came into the media and said that she did not sign any such contract. However, the AMPTPP then helped them in settling their case. ^[5]The Times of India
