Suhail Chandhok

Suhail Chandhok is an Indian actor and TV presenter. He is a commentator with Star Sports and has hosted events of sports like Cricket, Hockey, Football, and Kabaddi. He is the son of Vicky Chandhok, the multiple Indian rallying champion and President of the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India. His elder brother, Karun Chandhok, is one of the two Formula 1 racing drivers from India.

Suhail Chandhok got married to Trishya Screwvala, daughter of Ronnie Screwvala (entrepreneur & philanthropist), on 19 January 2017 in a private wedding. The wedding was held at Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. It was followed by a reception at the Turf Club, Mahalaxmi Racecourse, which was attended by a number of celebrities and industrialists.

Career

Suhail started his career as a cricketer in 2009 by playing in the Indian Premier League from the cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore. He also played Champions League Twenty20 in 2009. He played the game for two years, and subsequently, resigned from the game owing to acute knee injuries and multiple surgeries.

On being forced to give up his cricketing dreams, Suhail, who was equally fascinated with the camera, made a short film under the name ‘Johnny Vetrivel.’ He uploaded the video on YouTube that gained quite some attention.

 

His father shared the video’s link to the South Indian actor Ajith Kumar, who suggested his name for a role in the Tamil film “Arrambam” (2013). Subsequently, he appeared in the film “Veeram” (2014) as Kumaran.

In 2015, Suhail became a sports presenter and commentator at Star Sports. He has hosted sports events of many popular games like Cricket, Football, Hockey, and Pro Kabaddi among others.
