Sriti Jha is an Indian actress. She is best known for playing Jhanvi in the TV serial Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava? (2011) and Pragya Arora Mehra in the TV serial Kumkum Bhagya (2014).

Television

Sriti Jha’s debut as a television actress was with the 2007 Disney India show, Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. She played the role of Malini Sharma in this teen drama show. In 2008, she acted in the show Jiya Jale as Sunaina Kotak and contested in the friend-based reality show Kaho Na Yaar Hai. In 2009, she played Princess Suhani in Shaurya Aur Suhani. From 2009 to 2010 she acted in Jyoti as Sudha “Devika” Sharma Vashisht.

In 2010, Jha acted as a blind girl named Sandhya Savratkar Pradhan in a TV show called Rakt Sambandh. From 2011 to 2013, she played a character named Jhanvi Sharma Dobriyal / Sia Sharma Pratapsingh on a show called Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava? where she portrayed a victim of domestic violence. In 2013, she played the role of Ganga in Balika Vadhu. From 2014 to 2021, she starred in a show called Kumkum Bhagya as Pragya Arora Mehra. This role brought her a lot of fame and recognition. She won many awards for her performance throughout the years.

In January 2021, she recited a poem called “Confessions Of An Asexual Romantic” where she talked about how life might be for someone who doesn’t feel sexual attraction, and how difficult it is to discuss one’s sexuality in India. People suspected that the poem was her way of saying she is asexual but she said the poem wasn’t about her, and she’s not asexual. She also recited two other poems about people with different sexual orientations, one about a gay man and another about a lesbian woman. In “It’s Pehla Pyaar Every Time,” she talked about how falling in love always feels like the first time. In her poem “A Letter To Myself,” she talks about what she would tell her younger self. She participates in many events where she reads her poetry to an audience. She presented a poem called “Cheesy Stupid Ishq” in honour of Valentine’s Day in 2021. She participates in the Spoken Fest events held by Kommune in Mumbai where she presents her work and poetry.
