Divya Agarwal

Priyank was in a relationship with his partner from Splitsvilla (2017), Divya Agarwal. In December 2017, Divya entered the Bigg Boss house where Priyank was and broke up with him. There were rumours that she broke up with him because he was getting extremely close to his co-contestant, Benafsha Soonawalla. During an interview, he recalled that his dating experience in Splitsvilla was very “weird”. ^[1]India Today

Priyank met Benafsha Soonawalla when they both participated in Bigg Boss Season 11 (2017). In the beginning, the two were in a relationship with other people (Priyank with Divya Agarwal and Benafsha with Varun Sood), but as the show progressed they started getting closer. The couple denied being in a relationship until making it public in 2020. In 2021, rumours of the couple having broken up started circulating. In an interview, Priyank confirmed that their relationship was strong. The couple have since broken up. In 2023, Priyank opened up about his “recent breakup” during an interview.

Television

Priyank started his career in television by starring in the serial “Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya” in 2016.

In 2017, he participated in three reality TV shows, Roadies Rising (Season 15), Splitsvilla 10, and Bigg Boss Season 11 (Padosi Bajayenge Barah). He was a celebrity contestant on Bigg Boss 11 and was evicted by public vote.

In Roadies Rising, he reached the semi-final level and won 2nd place on Splitsvilla 10 with Divya Agarwal. In 2017, he also starred in the show MTV Big F Season 2, where he played the character, Akhil. He starred in the web series Punchh Beat created by Vikas Gupta. He played the character Rahat from  2019 to 2021.

In 2020 he also acted in the TV series, Mum Bhai, where he played “Pridhvi” and the mini-series, The Holiday. In 2023, he appeared in the romantic TV show, Jab We Matched, as Sunny.

He also acted in the 2024 TV mini-series, Dillogical.

Other Works

In August 2017, Priyank did his first ramp walk at India Kids Fashion Week by Kirti Rathore in Mumbai.

He has also appeared in many music videos. In 2019, Priyank and Hina Khan starred in Arjit Singh’s music video for his song, Raanjhana. In 2020, he was in the music video of Hum Tum, sung by Sukriti Kakar and Prakriti Kakar. In 2022, he appeared in the music video of Armaan Malik‘s song, Rehna Tere Paas. Controversy

Issues on Bigg Boss Season 11

Priyank Sharma was evicted from Bigg Boss 11 for pushing co-contestant Akash Dadlani. This went against the rules of the house and he was made to leave. However, he returned later and continued participating.

Controversy With Vikas Gupta

A rumour of Priyank being Vikas Gupta’s boyfriend was floating around but was never confirmed. In 2020, Vikas Gupta blamed Priyank and Bigg Boss co-contestant, Parth Samthaan for blackmailing and bullying him into coming out as bisexual. He said,

I am putting a stop to all this and filing a defamation suit against him and also want #ParthSamthaan and #Priyanksharma to give clarity on the same and issue a public apology by Tom otherwise the same will follow suit and will prove it as well that they are lying. I have been forced to take this step cause it’s affecting my work, personal life, and more.” ^[2]News18

Vikas Gupta alleged that he was in a relationship with Priyank for about one and a half years. Speaking of the trouble he faced due to Priyank, Vikas said,

He lived with me in this house for 1.5 years and then went on to Bigg Boss 11 with me. After BB, he worked with me on one of my shows. But after the completion of the first schedule, he started harassing me. He stopped coming for the shoot and said that his leg bone has expanded and he is in immense pain but still has to go for shoots. Priyank said that is he doesn’t get operated in a month’s time then he will have to amputate his leg. I’d fought with the team that give him some time because he is in pain. It’s been more than 1.5 years but he still hasn’t got operated for it…I’ve incurred major losses for that show and people thought that Priyank is such a sweet soul, he is working despite being in pain. I started getting blackmailed that I make a post that Priyank is a great actor or else I won’t come for shoots. Nobody has harassed me the way he has done during this show. ^[3]The Times of India

Vikas also alleged that Priyank has tortured him mentally. In response to Vikas Gupta’s allegations, Priyank said,

I don’t think so much about my past. I’m the person who believes in moving on. But all I want to say is that the person who claims that he is your friend never goes and publicly talks about your things. Matlab aap apne hai hi nahi agar aap duniya ko jaake bol rahe ho maine iske liye ye kia, woh kiya. Matlab kyun. Mai bahut achche se samaj gaya hu mere apne kaun hai aur aise log toh mere apne bilkul nahi hai. I never talk about this, but this is the first time I am revealing to you that person came and apologise to me for what he did.” ^[4]News18

Priyank stated that he was affected mentally by the entire situation and that his parents had been of great support. He also said that he was afraid of talking about it to his parents and shared how his mother laughed it off.

Police Complaint Against Attacker

On 30 July 2022, an unidentified person attacked Priyank at a hospital, where he had visited for his mother’s checkup. Later, he complained to the Kaushambi Police Station. In his complaint, he said,

Suddenly out of nowhere, this man attacked me and started hitting me. I managed to hold his hand and push him back. There was a lot of commotion. Two men from the hospital administration came to my rescue and I am really grateful to them. The guy who tried to attack me ran away. It was a scary situation.” ^[5]Hindustan Times

He mentioned that the hospital did not share CCTV footage after he requested it and that a case has been filed under Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing harm) of the Indian Penal Code.
